Is This Right for My Dog?

This wrap is designed for dogs who need support focused on the back, spine and surrounding muscles rather than a single joint.

It is best suited for:

  • Dogs with back or spinal stiffness or discomfort
  • Dogs diagnosed with arthritis or age-related joint changes
  • Senior dogs whose mobility and activity has started to slow
  • Dogs recovering from soft tissue injury or muscle soreness
  • Dogs who suffer from IVDD
  • Dogs whose owner wants a flexible, wearable option for daily home therapy

Mila, our eight-year-old French Bulldog, has arthritis in her back legs rather than her spine, so she uses our Large Red Light Therapy Pad and Smaller Targeted Pad for her daily routine. But we know that spinal and back issues are common in many breeds, and this wrap was a natural addition to the collection to support those dogs properly.

If your dog needs broader full-body coverage across the hips and multiple joints at once, our Large Red Light Therapy Pad may be a better fit.

Wearable Coverage

The wrap sits directly against your dog's body, secured with an adjustable velcro strap, so the 84 LED chips maintain consistent contact across the back and torso throughout the session.

This direct contact approach means the light is working consistently rather than depending on how your dog positions themselves on a flat pad.

It allows light to reach:

  • The full length of the back and spine
  • Surrounding muscles and soft tissue
  • The torso and side body

The wrap is designed for use at rest. Your dog should be calm and settled during sessions and the wrap should not be used while they are walking or moving around.

How Red Light Therapy Works

Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of light to support the body's natural recovery processes.

This wrap uses two types of light:

  • Red light (660nm): supports surface-level tissues and helps encourage circulation
  • Near-infrared light (850nm): reaches deeper areas including muscles, joints and soft tissue

Together, this dual-spectrum approach supports dogs experiencing:

  • Back and spinal discomfort
  • Arthritis and joint stiffness
  • Muscle soreness and tension
  • Reduced mobility in older dogs

For best results, use consistently as part of your dog's daily routine.

Specifications & Certification

We believe you should know exactly what you're getting, so here's the detail behind the wrap:

  • Irradiance: 89.4.mW/cm² at surface contact, strong enough to make a genuine difference
  • Wavelengths: 660nm (red light) and 850nm (near-infrared), delivered together in every session
  • 84 LED beads across the wrap, giving broad coverage across the back and spine
  • 3.5W of power
  • CE, RoHS and FCC certified, so you can trust what's going onto your dog

This is a valuable addition to the range for dogs who need back and spinal support.

Built-In Comfort & Control

Everything is designed to make therapy simple and manageable at home:

  • 74 LED chips across 660nm red and 850nm near-infrared wavelengths
  • Three light modes: all LEDs, red only, or near-infrared only
  • Pulse mode available across all three settings
  • Built-in 30 minute auto-shutoff timer
  • Rechargeable 3,600mAh battery via USB-C, no mains cable needed during use
  • Adjustable velcro strap for a secure, comfortable fit

Size Guide

To find the right size, measure your dog's neck circumference and belly girth at the widest point. If you are unsure, please get in touch before ordering.

  • Small: Neck 34cm to 46cm, Belly up to 55cm.

If your dog is bigger than this, we'd recommend our Large Red Light Therapy Pad instead, which offers full-back and hip coverage for larger breeds.

12 Month Warranty

Every ChillyPup Red Light product comes with a 12 month warranty as standard, covering full product failure. To help your product last, store it rolled rather than folded flat, and keep it away from water and moisture at all times. Full warranty terms are on our Returns and Refunds Policy.

The Science Behind Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy can feel like a bit of a mystery from the outside, so we wanted to show you exactly what's happening underneath the fur.

This diagram shows how red and near-infrared light behave once they reach your dog's skin. Red light (660nm) stays closer to the surface, while near-infrared light (850nm) travels further, reaching down into the muscle layer beneath.

It's a completely natural process, simply light interacting with the body. Nothing is injected, ingested, or absorbed chemically, which is why it's such a gentle addition to your dog's routine.

Why Mila Uses It?

Mila is an active 8-year-old who loves water, chasing balls and running after squirrels. When she was diagnosed with arthritis in her back legs, red light therapy became part of her daily routine alongside her vet care. The large pad and smaller targeted pad have made a real difference to how she recovers and moves.

But Mila's arthritis is in her legs, not her spine. And as we've spoken to more dog owners, we know that spinal issues, back injuries and muscle discomfort along the spine are incredibly common, particularly in certain breeds.

That's why we added this wrap to the ChillyPup collection.

  • Designed to sit directly against the back and spine
  • Covers the full length of the back during a calm resting session
  • Wearable and cordless, so your dog can settle anywhere

We wouldn't add anything to ChillyPup that we didn't believe in. This wrap exists because we know how much of a difference the right support can make, and we wanted to offer that to dogs whose needs are different to Mila's.

If your dog struggles with their back or spine, this is for them.

★★★★★

Outstanding customer service and truly kind people behind this company.

Our three-year-old French Bulldog, Buddy, recently had emergency spinal surgery for IVDD. My son and I accidentally ordered two ChillyPup red light wraps. When I contacted Elliott & Mila about returning one, they refunded it and told us to keep it so we could donate it to another dog recovering from IVDD.

Buddy is doing very well, and we are using the wrap as part of his recovery routine. Their compassion and generosity during a very stressful time meant a great deal to our family.

Highly recommend ChillyPup.

Charlie & Buddy 🐾

Thank you Charlie, this genuinely means a lot to us. IVDD is such a worrying diagnosis and emergency surgery even more so, and we're really glad we could help in a small way during such a stressful time for your family. We're rooting for Buddy every step of the way.

Worth the investment

I wasn't sure whether to buy it at first, but I'm glad I did. Our dog Guinness accepts it without any fuss and it has become part of our evening routine.
Very happy with the quality. Will send a picture through tomororw

Thank you for this. It's always a relief when they accept it without a fuss, and an evening routine is exactly how we use it with Mila too. Really pleased the quality has lived up to expectations, and we'd love to see a picture of Guinness when you send it through.

Really impressed

I spent quite a bit of time researching red light therapy products and kept coming back to ChillyPup.
The wrap feels premium, fits well and is very straightforward to use. We've only had it for a few weeks but our spaniel already seems more settled and comfortable.

Thank you for this, and for taking the time to research before buying. Really pleased the wrap has lived up to what you were looking for, and it's encouraging to hear your spaniel is already seeming more settled after just a few weeks.

Exactly what we were looking for

After Hamish our dachshund's IVDD diagnosis we wanted something we could use directly on the affected area rather than hoping he stayed on a mat. The wrap has been brilliant because it sits securely across his back while he rests. It’s a little big but worth it.

Thank you Stuart, and we hope Hamish is doing well. IVDD is such a worrying diagnosis and wanting to target the specific area rather than relying on him staying on a pad makes complete sense. Really glad the wrap has been a good fit for his routine. The sizing feedback is really helpful too.

Great quality and easy to use

The first thing I noticed when it arrived was how well made it feels. We use it on our older Labrador's lower back in the evenings and he settles straight away.
Simple to use and easy to make part of our routine.

Thank you Andrea, really glad it's settled into your evenings so easily. A Labrador relaxing straight away is always a good sign, and we hope it continues to benefit him the more it becomes part of his routine.

Gives us peace of mind

After spinal surgery, we wanted something proactive we could do from home to support Masie recovery. The wrap has fitted into that routine perfectly.
The biggest thing for us is the reassurance. She relaxes completely when wearing it and seems much happier afterwards. Knowing we're doing something positive for her makes it worth every penny.

Thank you Colin, and we hope Masie is recovering well. That desire to do something positive from home after surgery is exactly what so many of our customers feel, and it's really lovely to hear the wrap has given you both that reassurance. The fact that she relaxes completely while wearing it is a wonderful sign.

Perfect for our IVDD dog

Our boy has had a couple of IVDD flare-ups over the years, so we're always looking for supportive things we can do at home alongside veterinary advice.
The wrap is ideal because it targets exactly where we want it. He seems very comfortable wearing it and often falls asleep during sessions. Very pleased with our purchase.

Thank you for this. IVDD flare-ups are so stressful to manage and that instinct to do everything you can at home alongside your vet is something we completely understand. Really glad the wrap is giving you that targeted support and that he's comfortable enough to fall asleep during sessions, that's always a great sign.

So much easier than a mat

We originally looked at one of the larger pads but decided the wrap made more sense for our dog. Being able to position it directly across her back has worked brilliantly. having a battery and no cables is great
She's completely relaxed when it's on and we've noticed she seems more comfortable after resting.

Thank you Clare, really glad the wrap turned out to be the right choice. Being able to position it exactly where it's needed makes such a difference, and no cables means she can settle wherever she's most comfortable. Lovely to hear she's more relaxed after resting.

Frank was diagnosed with IVDD and, after his surgery, we wanted to try red light therapy to support his recovery. We had been looking at pads but the wrap looked perfect for him. The fit is great and the quality is excellent

Thank you for sharing this, I'm really glad to hear the wrap is suiting Frank so well during his recovery from IVDD. It's such a tough time for any dog and owner, so it's lovely to hear it's becoming a useful part of his routine. Glad the fit and quality have lived up to what you needed.
Wishing Frank continued progress.
